ABOUT

With an interest in creating surface pattern inspired by Scottish nature and architecture I create printed textiles, wallhangings and ceramics. Through paper stencilling and screen printing my prints capture the colours, shapes and patterns of nature on Scotland's West Coast.

My love for screen printing began early at the age of 12 when I received my first screen for my birthday. Being raised by artists, in a creative household meant I was always making and my dream of having my own print studio started young.

I graduated from textile design at the Glasgow School of Art in 2018 and after an exciting 6 months of awards, collaborations, exhibitions and opportunities, I set up a small print workshop in Tighnabruaich, Argyll. I have spent the last 4 years working from there on exciting projects, exhibiting around the world and creating wallhangings and textiles that interpret nature in abstract form for homes and spaces.

I work my wallhangings as collections. My prints are an extension of my sketchbooks and drawings using a unique approach to screen printing where each shape is created from a stencil cut from paper. While this means I can not simply reproduce my designs, it does allow me to approach printing in a spontaneous manner, reacting to each layer as I print.

At the beginning of this year I opened the doors to my new print studio in Bridge of Weir. Here I have welcomed many visitors who are eager to learn my process and print their own textiles. While the new workshop is a place for me to produce my own work, it is also busy with screen printing and ceramic workshops and has a small shop stocked with work from other Scottish makers.
